Who We Are

Needy of Greater Baton Rouge was founded by Mr. J.C. Arceneaux, and has been in existence since 1970. We continue to be a family run operation with the founder’s son, Tim Arceneaux, serving as director working along side his wife Tracy and their children. We are a nonprofit 501(c)3 Louisiana organization. Needy of Greater Baton Rouge is sponsored by the business community and works closely with charitable organizations. Our donations come from the local community and our services stay local. We help out over 2000 families each year throughout South Central Louisiana.

Needy of Greater Baton Rouge is a Christian nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those less fortunate in our extended community.

We at Needy of Greater Baton Rouge envision a world where our services are no longer needed. We envision a world where everyone has food on their table and clothes on their back. Until that day arrives we will continue our ministry of helping those in need as we lift our heart to God and open our arms to others.

Guiding Principles

  1. We believe that through the ministry of God we have a responsibility to help those in need.
  2. We believe in empowering people to not only help themselves but those in their community and beyond.
  3. We believe that we have an obligation to leave our community, our nation, our world better off than when we found it.
  4. We believe that communities are better off when working together.
  5. We believe in giving back.
