Needy of Greater Baton Rouge, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit Christian organization that collects donated clothes and household items from the community to benefit the needy in the Baton Rouge area, including the elderly, disabled, single mothers and their children. We have numerous donation boxes located throughout Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas – Denham Springs, Baker, Walker, Zachary, Gonzales, Prairieville, St. Amant, Geismar, Livingston, South Albany, Sorrento, Port Vincent and growing – at charitable-minded businesses to collect clothing and other household items.

We then use the proceeds from the sale of these items to purchase food vouchers and grocery gift cards to distribute to the needy in the community. All Needy of Greater Baton Rouge applicants are local and must be qualified to receive assistance. If funds are available, we also donate locally in other ways and participate in other charitable drives such as holiday gift baskets, coats for kids, and more.

Needy of Greater Baton Rouge also works to help various associated charitable organizations. All donations are tax deductible and receipts are provided online or by request. We primarily serve South Central Louisiana; Ascension Parish, East Baton Rouge Parish, West Baton Rouge Parish, Iberville Parish, and Livingston Parish, the areas that surround the greater Baton Rouge metropolitan area.

You have helped us feed many Livingston Parish families... blessed many U.S. Veterans...and provided fruit to the shut-ins. Without your support in our endeavors, we would not have been able to provide these services and gifts. Read More
